Dr. Brian Davidson is a cardiologist and an Associate Professor of Medicine within the Knight Cardiovascular Institute at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He is also a staff cardiologist at the Portland VA Medical Center and directs the Non-invasive Cardiovascular Imaging Research Laboratory at OHSU.

His research interest is in the use of advanced echocardiographic techniques including contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEU) to better understand, diagnose and treat cardiovascular disease. Research focuses have included the evaluation of CEU perfusion imaging as a clinical diagnostic imaging modality for peripheral artery disease, a collaborative project with computer software engineers to create artificial intelligence software to support myocardial contrast echocardiography (MCE) processing and interpretation, and development of CEU molecular imaging as a clinical technique to detect recent myocardial ischemia.

Dr. Davidson has been a Fellow of the ASE since 2015 and has served in numerous ASE committees and task forces including Co-Chair of the Industry Relations Committee and Chair of the Research Committee. He is a member of the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Writing Committee and is a co-medical director for the Willamette Valley Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Davidson received his medical degree from the University of California, Davis. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency at OHSU. Following residency, he completed a clinical and research fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at OHSU followed by an advanced imaging research fellowship also at OHSU.
