Silent auctions are auctions held without an auctioneer. People place their bids on sheets of paper instead. Items up for bid will be displayed all day on Sunday in the Exhibit and Poster Hall of the San Diego Convention Center. Each item for auction will have an Item Number and a corresponding clipboard with a bidding sheet. The bidding sheet will provide the item description, item value, donor and minimum bid. To make a bid, simply record your name, phone number and bid amount on the clipboard. If someone makes a higher bid than you, the bid will have to be at least $10 more than the previous bid ($10 increments). You may bid on an item as many times as you wish until bidding is closed. After the bidding process is closed, staff will tally the bids sheets and post the winners of each item.
